Issa Rae is an acclaimed American actress, director, producer, and scriptwriter, best known for the web series THE MISADVENTURES OF AWKWARD BLACK GIRL (2011), which was also published into a book, becoming the bestseller of the year. The web series was adapted into a television series titled INSECURE, where she contributed as a co-writer and executive producer. She has appeared in many TV series, such as THE COUPLE and TRUE FRIENDSHIP SOCIETY and produced series such as M.O. DIARIES and LITTLE HORRIBLES. Rae is an honorable recipient of the Vanguard Award at the ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Awards.
